"...Except ye believe that I AM, ye shall die in your sins."

     –Jesus (John 8:24)

...Does This Even Matter?

What's the big deal?

Does it really matter what we believe about Jesus Christ?

Yes – it is extremely important.

It's literally an issue of life or death...of salvation or damnation – of Heaven or Hell.

"I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM, ye shall die in your sins." (John 8:24)

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath fo God abideth on him." (John 3:36)

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

Believing in only one God – not one God in three "persons" – is essential for salvation; it is the FIRST (main) commandment.

"...The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord...this is the first commandment." (Mark 12:29-30)

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." (James 2:19)

If we want our sins to be forgiven, the Name of Jesus must  be called over us in baptism!

"And he said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved... that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." (Luke 24:46-47)

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:37-38)

"And now, why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away they sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16)

"And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days." (Acts 10:48)
